Others feel like the problem is beyond them.

“It is a bigger problem, but folks just don’t want to take the time to track it down because it’s a complex problem,” stated John Squire, of
web analytics firm Coremetrics, to CNET. “Given that some of the largest marketers manage up to 1 million keywords in a campaign the data
can be difficult to crunch.”

Companies who do understand and report click fraud to search engine properties have had success receiving refunds for fraudulent clicks. For
those advertisers who want to address the possibility of click fraud in PPC campaigns, good option do exists. At the most basic level,
advertisers can use general auditing; many have been known to compile lists of sites that generate high numbers of clicks but not sales. This will indeed put up a red flag.

On the other hand, because click fraud is advancing at such frequency, click fraud detection companies and software have been popping up all
over the country.

EVEN if you don’t work from home, it can still be a real treat to have a room where all your paperwork and computer can be kept. First decide on the best place for your desk. 0 Comments | South Wales Evening Post, Jul 1, 2010

A MUM has made a desperate appeal for the return of her daughter’s beloved pet bird.

Vici Bowen, of Newton, in Mumbles, said the animal escaped from its cage on Sunday afternoon.

It is a 1-year-old peach-faced lovebird named Roxy and is green in colour.

Mrs Bowen, 39, said the bird had been spotted in Langland Bay yesterday morning.

“The lovebird was an 18th birthday present for my daughter,” she added. MISSING Roxy owned Bowen, of “My 2-year-old daughter let it out of the cage in our back garden, and we did not have much hope of seeing it again.

“However, we phoned the bird hospital in Pennard, and we were told that they had received a report of a peach-faced lovebird at Langland.

“We are quite worried for its health because it can only survive on certain types of seed.

Concepts In Health rides growth wave

Chain Drug Review, June 7, 2010

BLAUVELT, N.Y. — “Thirty to fifty percent growth may not be out of the norm for products in their first year,” says Concepts in Health Inc. president Holly Rosenthal. “But we are now going into our sixth year, and the strong double-digit growth continues.”

The company’s MidNite has experienced a robust and continuous growth trajectory year after year. The latest consumer sales show the sleep aid is now ranked as the No. 3 brand overall and the No. 1 natural brand in the sleep aid category, according to SymphonyIRI Group Inc.

“In fact, we have achieved the No. 1 or No. 2 category rank overall in nine of our top retailers,” says Irwin Katz, vice president of sales. “Furthermore, our research tells us that 57% of our users are coming from outside the O-T-C sleep aid category–totally new users or Rx users–so more than half of our volume is incremental to the category.”

This means that management at Concepts In Health must continue to reach ever more potential customers to keep the momentum going, Katz says, and that’s just what the companies intends to keep doing.

“Our consumers love our products, and our satisfaction levels are stratospheric,” says Rosenthal, noting that the average repeat buyer of MidNite has purchased it seven times in the last year.

Nonetheless, the company is always looking for ways to better meet users’ needs. This drive has led Concepts In Health to introduce dramatic improvements for both of its MidNite products.

Original MidNite, which has always been marketed as a fast-dissolve or chewable single-dose tablet, began shipping a newer, faster-dissolve technology this year. Changes to MidNite PM represent even bigger news

Ariz. sees increase in student aid applications

0 Comments | Community College Week, Feb 8, 2010

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona has seen the third-highest increase among the states in what’s known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Mesa Community College ranked 20th among colleges where more than 10,000 FAFSA applications were submitted.

Arizona’s Grand Canyon University, a private Christian-based school, ranked fifth.

Grand Canyon University spokeswoman Trish Newman says students received about $5 million in financial aid during the 2008-2009 school year.

Mesa Community College reports a 40 percent jump in the number of students filing FAFSA ‘applications compared with the previous year.

The form is used to determine a student’s eligibility for government and government-guaranteed commercial loans and grants.

Some private scholarship groups, as well as schools, also use the form to determine eligibility for financial aid.

SCOTTISH CLUBS READY TO RISE TO CHALLENGE

0 Comments | Herald, The; Glasgow (UK), Jul 28, 2010

MOTHERWELL face a tall order if they are to continue their Europa League adventure. Liverpool and Juventus are among the potential opponents in the third qualifying round, but firstly Craig Brown’s men must deal with the threat of striker Tor Hogne Aaroy, all 6ft 8in of him, in Thursday’s first-leg tie against Aalesunds FK.

Twelve months ago, Steaua Bucharest denied the Lanarkshire side passage to the final qualifying round of the inaugural Europa League.

Brown boasts a 100% record in European competition so far, albeit from only two games – 1-0 victories home and away against Icelandic outfit Breidablik – but will be eager to keep the run going and ensure Motherwell’s hopes of landing a glamour tie against one of European football’s big guns are kept alive.

Midfielder Steve Jennings yesterday spoke of the danger posed by the towering striker. “I’d like to think we could cope with him,” he said. “Having seen him this morning [on video], he is a big lad but if we can stop crosses coming in it will do us the world of good.

“Crags [Stephen Craigan] has got so many international caps, he has seen it all before. He has got enough nous about him to know when to go for a header, when not to go for a header, when to let him win it, when to leave off him.

“I played against Peter Crouch in a pre-season friendly [for Tranmere v Portsmouth] and he is the one in England that everybody knows. The thing with Crouchy is that he is also excellent on the floor.”

During his travails on the international stage, Brown has been witness to most challenges and situations, developing a knowledge of how to deal with them to a sufficient standard to achieve success.

“That is what we talked about in the team talk when we watched the video,” said Brown. “If we can stop crosses coming in then obviously that is going to help us. To be fair, they don’t seem to just pump it up to him, they do seem to try and play a bit.

“Obviously at goal kicks you have got to have one in front, one behind and a sweeper in case he does get the flick on. It is important we go there to let them worry about us and not just us worrying about them.”

European competition is the one region where Brown can be considered soemthing of a novice

Bennett weighs in and wins

0 Comments | Dominion Post; Wellington, New Zealand, Aug 1, 2009 | by WATKINS Tracy

PAULA BENNETT must have a midas touch. Her efforts to shut down a couple of solo mums before their criticism of Government policy got any traction should have backfired – but she has emerged from it the darling of talkback and the web instead.

That a Government minister can decide at any time to make public the details of how much a private individual earns may smack of a bullying nanny state and big brother rolled into one – but if Bennett knows her audience, she also chose her victims well.

It’s a pity it’s not so easy to get MPs to cough up details of what they spend their $300-a-week expense allowance on, of course – but, as solo mums Natasha Fuller and Jennifer Johnston learned this week, the privacy debate is not a two-way street.

The torrent of vitriol unleashed against Fuller and Johnston has shades of the race relations backlash sparked by former National leader Don Brash in 2004 with his “one law for all” Orewa speech.

Brash attempted to surf a similar wave of discontent with his Orewa speech a year later that targeted the DPB as a “career option” and threw out more adoptions as the solution.

But there was not the same rich vein of discontent to mine. It might have been a reflection of the fact that they were more prosperous times. Either that, or squeamishness at Brash’s blunt- stick approach. No such squeamishness this time. Bennett might have known she was throwing Fuller and Johnston to the dogs by releasing details of how much they earned on a benefit. But probably even she was taken aback by the angry edge to the voice of middle New Zealand.

When Labour leader Phil Goff announced his botched “welfare for all” policy, this was the public mood he was attempting to tap into – the rising resentment that there are no welfare cheques waiting for couples who’ve worked all their lives and fall on hard times when one of them loses their job.

But Bennett the Westie has bulldozed right over the top. She went for the jugular and found it in the form of a couple of solo mums.

Fuller receives $715 net a week and Johnston $554. Talkback’s cup ran over with anger at the women having their hand out for more in the form of training incentive allowances when they received the equivalent of $37,000 and $28,808 a year. If there was a common thread, it was that the women made more from the state than most hard-working families received in their pay packets.

Two issues had little attention during the furore. The first was that generous welfare assistance is also paid to working families. A three-child working family on Fuller’s income for instance, would receive an extra $261 a week from Working for Families; a little more would go to a family on Johnston’s income
